ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

*******Temecula has an excellent central location within Riverside County. Less than an hour to downtown San Diego, Temecula is also within an hour of the mountains, the beach and Palm Springs.

There has been tremendous growth in Temecula since 1988. Most of the homes in this area have been built since 1980, giving this town a very "new" feel. The cost of living in southwest Riverside County remains reasonable, making this one of the nicest and most affordable areas to live in Southern California. The average price of a home sold in Temecula during 1998 was $160,000.

Educational opportunities abound in and near Temecula. The schools are served by three school districts -Temecula School District, Murrietta School District and Lake Elsinore School District. Nearby in Menifee there is Mount San Jacinto Junior College and University of California Riverside is about a 35 minute drive from Temecula. In San Diego, one can also find University of California, San Diego and California State University, San Diego. Employment is abundant in San Diego County. Many residents commute to Escondido and San Diego.

After work and school, Temecula residents can find a multitude of diversions. Temecula is an excellent area for year-round golf with 8 golf courses consisting of 18 holes or more. Lake Elsinore and Lake Skinner offer boating and fishing and there are also many areas for mountain and dirt biking. Temecula is very popular with equestrians and there are plenty of trails for riding. Shoppers will find no lack of their favorite diversion in the Temecula area. Several major department stores can be found here and ground is currently being broken for a new regional mall in Temecula. There is a large outlet center in Lake Elsinore.

There are several good wineries in the area, producing some award winning wines. Temecula is also known as the site of the Temecula Balloon & Wine Festival. The RE/MAX balloon participates in the festival and offers balloon rides to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network.

If you like warm weather, you will love Temecula. Winter temperatures average in the 70's and summer hovers around the mid-to high 80s.
